Our origins date back to 1985 when Auto&General was launched in South Africa. Auto&General was the first insurance company in the world to employ paperless, computerised and scientific risk rating underwriting and to conduct business over the telephone using voice-recording systems during the sales, policy amendments and claims handling process. TIH was established in 1998 to house Auto&General and some of South Africa’s leading and most loved insurance brands.
