Senior Salesforce Developer

The Digital Team at Top Employers Institute is responsible for the development and support of the digital platforms which includes Salesforce Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud (Portals), Pardot,  Tableau CRM, and MyTrailhead. These digital platforms support the core business processes for Marketing, Sales, Operations (Certifications), and Finance.

The Digital Team is looking for a hands-on Salesforce Architect / Senior Developer. In this role, you are responsible for the design and development of our Salesforce platforms. You report to the Digital Director and work closely with the Product Owner and super users from our business clusters. You are a mentor for the Scrum Team members, and keep them and yourself up-to-date on the Salesforce platform, architecture, and development best practices. As part of the Digital Team, you are overseeing the architecture/design of any new developments but also work on the development of complex custom development (Apex/Lightning) yourself.

The Salesforce Architect / Senior Developer

  • Supports the Product Owner in gathering requirements by providing solution options and highlighting dependencies with the existing implementation
  • Oversees the end-to-end architecture of the digital systems (Salesforce Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud (Portals), Pardot,  Tableau CRM, and MyTrailhead) and integrations
  • Ensures that designs for new developments fit in the overall solution architecture
  • Develops and configures solutions using Salesforce functionality (Apex, Lightning Components, etc.)
  • Leads the complete development process from requirement analysis to deployment
  • Reviews and provides feedback on technical implementations and documents and ensures that Salesforce best-practices and Top Employers standards are followed
  • Collaborates with the internal and external development team during code reviews and unit testing
  • Mentors and provides guidance to the internal development team members

Key result areas and main activities

Well managing the application development process:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains (new) functionalities on the Salesforce platform
  • Designs, develops, and maintains integrations of applications with the Salesforce platform
  • Translates the requirements from the business clusters (Marketing / Sales / Certification / Finance) that are gathered by the Product Owner into technical Salesforce solutions

Ensuring an optimal platform architecture:

  • Creates and monitors the application architecture
  • Architects solutions on the Salesforce platform
  • Architects integrations of other applications with the Salesforce platform
  • Provides guidance and recommendations regarding enhancements on the Salesforce platform

Keeping up to date to deliver platform expertise:

  • Stays informed on the ins and outs of the Salesforce platform and the latest trends in application development not limited to the Salesforce platform
  • Liaises with the Data Steward on the creation and monitoring of the object model
  • Liaises with the Business Consultant regarding enhancements

Qualification Criteria

  • Fluent in English
  • Good communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with working in an international organization
  • Experience with hands-on Apex and Lightning Web Components development and with Salesforce Solution Architecture
  • Experience with Pardot and/or Tableau CRM is a plus
  • Certifications:

- Salesforce Platform App Builder (required)
- Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)
- Salesforce Platform Developer II (preferred)
- Salesforce Application Architect (preferred)
- Salesforce System Architect (preferred)
