Director of People

In the role of Director of People you will be responsible for creating and managing people strategies that support Top Employers Institute’s short and long term organisational objectives. You will work closely with the Board to create programmes that ensure great employee conditions for our people, globally, and you will be the primary support to our managers to promote and ensure great people management. Therefore, to be successful in this role you will have a proven success in people management.


  • Create and manage a long-term talent strategy that aligns people with the organisational strategy
  • Be the voice of HR within the Senior Leadership team
  • Be responsible for workforce planning and support managers with recruiting
  • Coach managers to ensure quality people-management across the company
  • Manage Learning & Development within the company, including on-boarding and necessary internal/external training, that maximises company results
  • Manage the performance cycle across the organisation, and champion development and succession planning
  • Implement and manage remuneration and rewards programmes
  • Manage Employee Engagement, Well-Being programmes, and values programme
  • Directly manage the HR Operations & Office Manager at HQ, and liaise with office managers globally to ensure quality administration of policies, process and paperwork


  • Must have a proven track record of successfully managing Human Resources in a multinational role, with direct responsibility for policies and HR Operations in the areas of:
    • Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning, On-Boarding, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Leadership Development, Career & Succession Management, Compensation & Benefits and elements to build a strong Company Culture
    • Must have a successful background in people-management and be able to coaching managers to people manage effectively
    • Must be able to create and manage HR strategy
    • Must have leadership experience

Education, Experience and Attributes:

  • At least 10 years working in HR
  • University or MBA level Human Resources education
  • Must be internationally-minded and able to work across multiple cultures
  • Fluent in Dutch and English – any other language is an asset
  • Must be positive, caring, approachable and resilient 
  • Must be a passionate team-player and an excellent, empathic communicator
  • Must have excellent presentation skills
