Michelin, world leading tyre manufacturer, was established in Romania in 2001, investing more than 400 million euros over the years.
The activity in Romania is a dynamic and diverse one, with an evolving development trend in terms of headcount - more than 4000 employees, and range of professional areas - 20 different fields of activity covering over 300 different jobs. In Romania, production facilities are based in three plants, one in Florești (Prahova) and two in Zalău. During the last 4 years, our Shared Services Center in Bucharest expanded the activity, delivering services in various domains: purchasing, finance, logistics, sales administration and human resources.
Our location in Bucharest became the Headquarters for all activities carried out by Michelin in 20 countries in Central Europe. Our 14 000 employees from the Central Europe Region are working in 6 Production sites, in Sales, Shared Services or Cartography.
It is common in Michelin for an Industrial Engineer to continue their career in the Shared Services Center, for a Polish to work in Romania, for a Romanian to become manager in Germany or for a woman to be Plant Manager. The diversity of jobs we manage in Central Europe allows us to build together with our employees surprising career paths. Our processes are designed to detect talents and to help each of our employees reach their potential.
