Esselunga’s history began in 1957 when the very first supermarket in Italy was open. Today Esselunga Group has around 24.000 employees and sales turnover of 7,8 billion euros. The Esselunga staff works hard to offer its customers accurate and functional stores, quality products that are carefully selected and controlled, advantageous pricing policies, innovation and eco-sustainability, transparency and honesty of communication, high level of service. Some years ago Esselunga opened an internal Learning Center to help its employees to develop new skills and competences. Almost 23.000 employees attend at least one course during a year; a total of 85.000 admissions.
